I had been a long-time admirer of Yamaha bikes. In fact, my first bike was a Yamaha RX 100, which has attained cult status since its launch in India. It was a second-hand 1989 model silver dream machine. I simply fell in love with the bike. I had to sell it off ten years back this day in 1999. I had completed my university, I had to move out of town and I was hard on finances. During that time, production of 2-stroke engines were also banned by India due to pollution norms being implemented. FF few years, I tried to buy yet another second-hand RX100, but couldn't. Those that were up for sale were either in very bad condition or very good, and the good ones were priced in gold. Even the spares were becoming harder to find. I am so happy that Yamaha has started selling the spares of the cult bikes RX100 and RD350. I had to give up the idea of buying a Yamaha because the newer models were simply not up to the mark.
I wondered if Yamaha would be able to come up with another killer of a bike. Years passed and last year this happened.
This is what I wanted to see. The Yamaha FZ16. What a bike! Not only it has the looks that kill, it has everything from style, power and design that made all bikes in its segment look silly and dull in India.
Once again, the Yamaha enthusiast in me started to feel they way Yamaha of yore made me feel when I was a university student riding my silver dream machine. Through this blog, I will pen my thoughts and let you know everything that is happening with Yamaha FZ16.
If you are a Yamaha fan and like the Yamaha FZ16 or a motorcycle lover/biking fan, please chip in with your valuable comments.
Cheers!
